Words that rhyme with bitter...

In this case bitter is a very suiting rhyme, as it accurately depicts my feelings here.  It is likely that those who know me are aware of my dislike for glitter.  Much to my chagrin, I worked today with a few ornaments that had glitter on them.  To no surprise of anybody, by the time I looked down to review my work, not only were my hands coated in glitter... but so was the table, and my clothes, and some on the chair and the floor (not to mention the tools I was working with).  Now the thing about glitter that really gets to me is that the ornaments were still FULLY covered.  Therefore, the glitter simply expanded... making more and more of itself from nothing until everything I was working with or near was absolutely covered.

I have known for a while that glitter is one of the few things that does not obey laws of conservation.  It will exist in small quantities on a given object, and spread to everything that the object comes in contact with.  I'm convinced that it is never successfully removed or cleaned away.  Rather, the human mind cannot fathom this phenomenon and simply refuses to acknowledge it.  So we are all in fact swimming in glitter and simply can no longer see it.... except when it's new and fresh.

Another way of putting it is that glitter is a physical embodiment of entropy.  Yes... it will forever move towards disorder, creating a mess that cannot be cleaned up wherever it goes.  Oh I despise glitter... and I will likely continue my passionate ranting at it for a very very long time....

A new kind of Christmas film

It's been a while since I've seen the first Die Hard film... We ended up watching it as our Christmas Movie this year... With classic festive lines such as:

"Now I have a machine gun... Ho-Ho-Ho"

Ah, good times.  I highly recomend it to anyone who as not yet seen it.  And to those who have... it's a lot more funny than I recalled it being.  Watch it again.

Merry Christmas everyone!
